A psychotherapist in private practice discovered that her patients faced the same challenges when it came to organizing their self-practice. She sought my help in designing an app that would allow her patients to store all their therapy insights in one place.
Together, we embarked on a journey to create the ultimate safe space where users could record their thoughts and feelings in any way they preferred - through text, emotions, or voice memos - and that space would be referred to as a "feed of their consciousness". We decided to explore the idea of modeling this platform like a chat.
Intro
During interviews with patients, we discovered that they desired a way to meticulously record their live psychotherapy sessions in order to reflect on their progress. To address this need, we created a feature in the app that allowed users to record their sessions in the background, which they could then revisit later to refresh their memory.
This feature could also be used as a voice diary for a more detailed journaling experience.
